Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to the questions business owners most often ask about working with Ken Sevick, a business coach and strategic advisor to owners and leadership teams across the U.S.

General

What does Ken Sevick Coaching do?

I provide business coaching, consulting and strategic advisory services for owners of small and mid-sized companies across the U.S., along with executive and team coaching for leaders in organizations of every size, including large organizations. My work centers on the 6 Pillars Coaching Framework: Leadership Strength, Team Alignment, Strategic Direction, Systems & Process, Financial Performance and Owner Freedom.

Are you a business coach, a consultant, or a strategic advisor?

All three, depending on what the business needs. As a consultant and strategic advisor, I bring direct guidance from more than 20 years of working with business owners and executives. As a coach, I make sure it gets implemented: building accountability, developing your leaders, and staying with you until the changes stick. Many advisors stop at recommendations; I stay involved through execution.

Do you only work with businesses in a certain area?

No. I work with owners and leadership teams across the U.S. virtually, and I travel for on-site trainings and strategic planning sessions.

How often do we meet?

Clients typically meet with me 2–3 times a month for strategy sessions and have access to me between sessions when issues come up.

How long do clients usually work with you?

I work with clients for as long as it takes to reach their goals, whether that calls for a shorter engagement or a longer partnership. The average client works with me for more than 19 months, because lasting change in leadership, systems and accountability takes consistent follow-through.

How much does coaching cost?

Investment depends on the scope of work: the size of your company, which coaching paths you need, and the level of support. We will discuss it openly during a free first conversation.

What happens in the first conversation?

It is free, with no pressure and no hard selling. It is simply a healthy conversation to understand where you are, see whether I can help, and decide whether we are a good fit.

What kinds of businesses do you work with?

I have worked with hundreds of leaders across more than 60 industries, including roofing and construction, retail, professional services, family-owned companies and more. What matters most is an owner who wants structure and disciplined growth.

Do you need experience in my industry to help my business?

No. The challenges that hold a business back are rarely specific to its industry. Every company, whether it is a contractor, a professional services firm or a manufacturer, depends on the same fundamentals: strong leadership, an aligned team, clear strategic direction, effective systems and processes, sound financial performance, and an owner who is not the bottleneck. Those are the 6 Pillars, and that is where my expertise lies. You bring deep knowledge of your industry; I bring more than 20 years of experience in business, people, financials and scaling across more than 60 industries.

Business Coaching

What does a business coach do?

A business coach helps owners strengthen how the company runs: leadership, accountability, systems, strategy and financial visibility. The goal is a business that can grow without depending on the owner for everything.

Who is business coaching for?

Owners leading teams of about 5 to 150+ employees who want disciplined, sustainable growth, care about culture and performance, and are willing to be challenged.

Executive Coaching

What is executive coaching?

Executive coaching focuses on the individual leader: decision-making, emotional intelligence, communication, delegation and leading under pressure. As the organization grows, it increasingly mirrors its leader.

Who is executive coaching for?

Leaders in organizations of every size, from owner-led companies to large organizations and enterprises. That includes founders, CEOs, senior executives, division and department leaders, and high-potential leaders stepping into larger roles. I have spent more than 20 years working with business owners and executives.

Do you provide executive coaching for large organizations?

Yes. In addition to working with business owners, I coach executives and senior leaders inside large organizations, helping them lead with clarity under pressure, align their teams, and step successfully into expanded roles. Engagements can include one-on-one coaching for individual leaders as well as coaching for their leadership teams.

What is the difference between business coaching and executive coaching?

Business coaching strengthens the company. Executive coaching strengthens you as a leader. Most clients use a blend of both as priorities shift.

Team Coaching

What is team coaching?

Team coaching develops the leadership team as a working system: how leaders make decisions together, align on strategy, clarify roles, build trust and hold each other accountable. It is performance-based development, not team-building exercises.

What method do you use for team coaching?

I use the Systemic Team Coaching approach developed by Peter Hawkins, and I am a Certified Practitioner in Team Coaching through the Global Team Coaching Institute.

Strategic Planning & Trainings

Do you facilitate strategic planning sessions?

Yes. I lead leadership teams through a practical planning process: assessing where the business stands, setting long-term direction and annual priorities, defining quarterly objectives, and building the KPIs and meeting rhythms that drive execution.

Do you facilitate on-site retreats or trainings?

Yes. I travel to facilitate leadership retreats, strategic planning sessions and trainings for teams across the U.S.
